چکیده
chest X-ray film (Fig. 1). Clinical examination was normal. Computed tomographic angiography of the chest (Figs. 2, 3) showed a balanced type of double aortic arch, both of which arose from the ascending aorta anterior to the tracheae. Each arch gave origin to the common carotid and subclavian artery, and joined right posterior ward to form the descending aorta. The patient had neither respiratory symptoms nor dysphagia. Barium esophagograms showed no extrinsic compression of the esophagus. We followed him without surgical treatment.

Stridor in a Newborn with Double Aortic Arch-A Case Report
Introduction: Double aortic arch (DAA) is a congenital anomaly of the aortic arch. It is the most common type of complete vascular ring. When it occurs, the connected segment of the aortic arch and its branches encircle the trachea and esophagus, leading to symptoms related to these two structures. Case Report: We present a case of a newborn baby who developed biphasic stridor immediately after...

Background Vascular ring is less than 1% of congenital heart disease. Double aortic arch (DAA) is the most common form of it. Its detecting is important because of the effects of pressure on the esophagus and trachea. Case Report In this study, three children suffering from double aortic arch with symptoms of dysphagia and recurrent aspiration, which in two cases had led to cardiac arrest, wer...
متن کاملTwo cases of a rare association: double aortic arch with tetralogy of Fallot
Two cases of asymptomatic double aortic arch with tetralogy of Fallot are reported. One presented with a non-dominant left arch and left-sided descending thoracic aorta and the other with a non-dominant left arch, a right-sided descending thoracic aorta and a patent ductus arteriosus. One-stage operation was performed and both patients were discharged free of symptoms and signs related to the d...

A 51-year-old male patient with a past history of lung tuberculosis was referred to our clinic for routine control. The patient reported no complaints and chest X-ray was normal. Three-dimensional thoracic computed tomography revealed a balanced-type double aortic arch with no compression of trachea or esophagus.
متن کاملDouble Aortic Arch in an Elderly Asymptomatic Woman.
A 69-year-old woman with syncopes and recently diagnosed hypertrophic cardiomyopathy was referred to our imaging unit to complete a cardiac magnetic resonance study. This confirmed the hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (mediobasal septum 17 mm) with left ventricular outflow tract obstruction and anterior systolic motion of the mitral valve (Figure 1). In the anatomical axial planes, we observed an im...
متن کاملAortic Arch Anomalies: Simplified Classification
Between the years 1965 and 1970, ten patients were operated on for congenital anomalies of the aortic arch which caused symptoms of tracheoesophageal compression. The classic Edwards' diagram was modified for a more simple mterpretation of these anomalies. Accordingly, all our patients were found to belong to four distinct variations: 1) double aortic arch, which was divided in twosubgroups, a)...
